Compare Versions
Version Compare allows users to compare asset versions on a pixel-by-pixel basis, providing a way to ensure visual consistency, quality control, and version accuracy. This tool allows users to precisely compare different versions of an asset, highlighting even the smallest visual changes that might otherwise go unnoticed—such as subtle color shifts, layout adjustments, or unwanted edits. Whether reviewing design iterations, catching production errors, or ensuring brand compliance, this feature empowers teams to make faster, more confident decisions by providing a clear, side-by-side visual audit trail. It's a critical capability for creative workflows where every pixel matters.
There are views that can be leveraged within Version Compare:
Using Version Compare: Dual View
Dual view is best used for comparing asset versions side by side where a quick scan is enough to determine the visual differences between the versions. Dual view contains the following:
1. View Selector
- Quickly toggle between Dual and Split View.
2. Tool Bar
- When in Dual View, the tool bar contains the following actions:
- Show/Hide Differences: Clicking 'Show Differences' will show the preview on the right side of the window grayscale, allowing all differences to be highlighted for easier visibility. Hiding differences will return both previews to their original form.
- Zoom In: Clicking zoom in will incrementally magnify both previews. You can then click and drag to move the previews around. Whichever preview you click and drag, the other side will mirror.
- Zoom Out: Clicking zoom out will incrementally reduce the size of both previews. You can then click and drag to move the previews around. Whichever preview you click and drag, the other side will mirror.
- Highlight Difference: Clicking 'Highlight Difference' will open up a color picker, allowing you to choose what color your differences get highlighted in.
- Reset View: Clicking 'Reset View' will reset any zoom settings.
3. Version Selector
- The version selector allows you to select which versions are being compared.
Using Version Compare: Split View
Split view is best used for comparing asset versions where a quick scan is not enough to determine the visual differences between the versions and where highlighting the differences may be required. Pixel differences are always highlighted by default when using split view. As a result of this, not all actions available in Dual view are available in Split view. Split view contains the following:
1. View Selector
- Quickly toggle between Dual and Split View.
2. Tool Bar
- When in Dual View, the tool bar contains the following action:
- Highlight Difference: Clicking 'Highlight Difference' will open up a color picker, allowing you to choose what color your differences get highlighted in.
3. Version Selector

4. Slider
- The slider allows your to incrementally expose differences between the two versions being compared.
