Replace asset preview

Tenovos automatically generates thumbnails and previews for uploaded image, video, and document assets which are displayed across the platform (e.g., in the Content gallery, Collections, the Cart, and Asset Details). For asset types without image previews—such as audio or compressed files—the file type is shown as the thumbnail.

Users with the Replace Preview privilege and access to an asset can replace its preview image, either individually or for multiple assets at once. The option to Replace Preview is available in the asset's content menu or within its Asset Details.

Replace an asset preview​

When you upload an asset, Tenovos automatically generates a preview thumbnail. After upload, you can replace that thumbnail with an image that is 25MB or smaller. The replacement preview file must be a JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, or GIF.

Excluding when you "upload" a metadata-only asset, you cannot replace an asset's preview thumbnail at upload—you must replace it after upload.

To replace an asset preview:

  1. Select the asset in the Content gallery, the Cart, or a Collection. Then open its preview context menu and click Replace Preview. If you are viewing its Asset Details, click Replace Preview.
  2. Navigate to the replacement image file and click Open. Supported file types for the replacement preview are JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, and GIF.
  3. At the confirmation prompt, click Yes, Update. The asset thumbnail and preview are replaced.

Replace the preview image for multiple assets​

You can replace the preview image for multiple assets at once. Supported files types for the replacement image are JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, and GIF.

To replace the preview image for multiple assets at once:

  1. Select the assets in the Content gallery, the Cart, or a Collection. NOTE: Ensure the selected assets are eligible for preview replacement. If you do not have the required permissions for any asset, the Replace Preview option will not be available.
  2. In the page task bar, open the context menu and click Replace Preview. Supported file types for the replacement preview are JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, and GIF.
  3. Choose the replacement image file and click Open.
  4. At the confirmation prompt, click Yes, Update. The asset thumbnails and previews are replaced.
