Product Update

Production: April 26, 2023​

This Product Update provides a summary of changes and enhancements to the existing application that impact all customers. When applicable, it includes changes to functionality that were made to resolve customer-specific issues and that apply to all Tenovos users. Product Updates occur frequently and are separate from Release Notes.

Unless otherwise stated, the availability of each update is as follows:

  • UAT: April 19, 2023
  • Production: April 26, 2023
  • Availability: All Customers

3D File Support​

Support for rendering thumbnails and previews of 3-D file types has been added to Tenovos. NOTE: Customers with existing 3-D files will have those files reprocessed within a few days following deployment so they render in the new 3-D viewer.

User Privileges and Permissions​

Previously, user accounts required both the “User Management” and “Security Template Management” role privilege to create and manage user accounts. Administrators can now separate these two administrative needs.

  • User Management grants a user access only to create user accounts and update existing accounts.
  • Security Template Management grants a user access to only Security Templates, Groups, and Access Templates.
  • A new privilege named “Role Management” grants a user the ability to create and manage roles.
  • When editing a user account, roles cannot be assigned if those roles have more administrative privileges than your own.

Accounts which currently have both the User Management and Security Template management privileges will automatically be updated to have the Role Management privilege so that functionality remains the same. Administrators should update these accounts appropriately based on actual needs.

PDF Preview Permission​

Previously, to view every page of a document (pdf, indd, etc.) on the Asset Details page, a user was required to have both “PDF Preview” and “Download” permission for the security template on the asset. Now, only “PDF Preview” permission is required to view the entire document. Administrators can update user group permissions to remove “Download” from user groups who only had it to be able to view entire documents.

When performing a search using the search bar:

  • The search term value or the Attribute Name may be used. Examples:
    • asset_type:image
    • “Asset Type”:image
  • Attribute names and/or values which contain a colon are now supported. Examples:
    • “Angle:Crop”:”AV - :60 Spot”
    • “Search Term Contains: Colon”

External Sharing​

Users with permission are now able to share external download links to assets without needing to go through the Transformation Process. The assets in the download link will be in their original format. There have also been several minor changes to the sharing interface and layout.

NOTE: There are no changes to the existing permissions needed to access external share.

File Ingest/Upload​

Ingesting new assets via the Bulk Operations feature was previously limited to files less than 5GB in size. This size limitation has been removed. The Bulk Operations feature has been enhanced to allow for versioning of assets. When you perform a Metadata Export, the existing column for “Operation Type” is now a drop-down list which contains an option for “Version”. Files for the new version may be uploaded to S3 or staged in the Tenovos UI through Bulk Operations.
